Huray for Philippine Animation!
last July 17, 2007 was the launching of 'Libignan' at CCP, the movie-product of the FIRST FILIPINO Animation company, Tuldok Animation Studios, Inc.
here's a movie preview
www.tuldokanimation.com/here's some pictures of the event aswell
melai123456789.multiply.com/ph…The four core founders were lasalle alumnis and former members of The LaSallian publication, also as arts and graphics staffers.. here are their names so that we may remember Benedict Carandang, Ramon del Prado, Toffer Liu, and Ayeen Pineda.
i don't have a copy of the article yet digitally, but we have it on print already.. please check the publication's site regularly in menagerie section.. or you could try searching for it on the web.. just type tuldok animation or libingan.. i think there's some news about it already on major pubs beside from the official company blog.
www.thelasallian.org/menagerie…www.thelasallian.orgwhat's even more great than movie is the promising future of the company. i also don't have a copy of company/movie brochure or another article on it by the Benildean, but anyway, everything was there, how there are formal roles and departments in the company, how it works as an organization.. i've only realized and understood this now that i'm taking up ORGBEHV (org. behavior) as a subject.
personally, and for a long time too, i thought people in this field and industry were a bunch of weirdos and crazy people, working on a near bending set od roles and responsibilities.. i think i somehow got this image of them from culture crash (sori guys kung mabasa nyo man, wag sana kayo magalit hehe ^^) from all those how and where we draw stuff.. (god i miss CC..!!) i guess that's thinking in the likes of a small group like CC where majority of the members are core member or founders..
thinking back, i think it was very naive.. now i know there's certain departments to handle which, this, that and what not.. like for example, there's the core members or executives, the arts dept, a finance dept, managing dept, promotions.. etc
it's a real work place, or so i believe..
haha turns out the artists work and share much information over the internet, in ygroups and conferences.. like one should expect in the Philippines, the artists have day job, so there's also the issue on meetings and scheduling.. after typing to this point, i realized how boring it sounds.. haha sorry, i'm not much of a writer..
anyway enough with the business side of things.. what' important is the passion and imagination right?! um, ..right??
--
our art and graphics editor (the owner of the multiply link above) invited us to watch it before, which for some reason i ''dismissed and refused'' over some project, paper or other school or trivial matter.. i was really busy at that week..
i really regret not being there, now i feel that i've missed something really important in my life or in our history.. i mean this was big news! well at least for me or other Filipino artist who share the same passion, as jerry would say, for anyone who'd be doing such helpful things, at least everyone else should be happy..
ok here's the rant part. damn it! i should've gone! now i really want to see the movie on the big screen! the makers of the film, artists, fans, faithful watchers, eager artists waiting for someone or some group to take that torch and light a start in the local animation industry.. professionals were also there, several big names in the industry, the ambassador of Japan, and.. and.... Lougee Basabas of Mojofly!!! damn it!
